Let the music play
Yahoo! search(along with Rhapsody) launched this very cool feature where in a user can listen to a full song without navigating away from the search results page. I remember seeing this player on YDN a couple of months ago.
Very cool UI and works on safari too

Click here to checkout the player. There is a limit of 25 songs/month.
I’ll miss you songza

Good stuff!

after 25 songs you need not miss songza…i suppose. and in the age of cheap massive storage who bothers searching and listening to one one song.
if there’s a way i can listen to my custom station which was in yahoo messenger…on a browser or some (perhaps xul based) desktop player by yahoo, that would be cool.

@Diabolic Preacher You want to listen to your custom station on a browser? Hell yeh! This is Y! music “music that listens to you”, check out my station here.
With all said, the Y! Music player works only in IE on Windoze. This damn player wont work on FF for Mac x-(

do you think IE tab extension would help?
but still meh! what the fuck. yahoo doesn’t let ms buy them up but they want to play nice only with IE. what plugins are being used. i hope they’ve grown beyond activeX.

Yes! Yahoo! has grown beyond activeX, and thats the reason we have the Y! Music api for developers like you- http://developer.yahoo.com/music/index.html
So, by when can I expect to see a demo of the so-called-non-activex-music-player?
If you’re one of the lazy types like me, go get the Y! media player extension for FF (figure out the gotchas on your own) – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5498
